Being an orthodontist is continuously rewarding, as I get to be the architect behind my patients’ dream smiles. There is nothing I’d rather do than see a patient complete treatment and find confidence and happiness in their new smile. Here at Beaches Orthodontics, we really do believe that changing a smile changes a life!
Beaches Orthodontics is more than just an orthodontic office; we are a family, and every new patient is an exciting new addition. My team and I take the time to get to know you, your lifestyle, and goals for your new smile while working hard to gain your trust and confidence. We know that in orthodontic treatment, no two patients have the same needs! We use the most advanced orthodontic techniques available to help you achieve a wonderful smile as efficiently as possible.
Education and Experience
You could say that working in the dental field runs in my family! My mother had her own general dentistry practice in Jacksonville until she retired, and my older sister is a general dentist with her own practice in Dallas.
I graduated from The Bolles School in 1998. In 2001, I received my Bachelor of Science in nutritional sciences and in 2005 my Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Florida. I completed my Master of Science and orthodontic residency at the University of Florida in 2008 and have been creating amazing smiles at Beaches Orthodontics since August 2011.
As a practitioner dedicated to being clinically excellent, it is imperative to me that I have as many tools as possible to give the best care to each and every patient. I make sure to stay up to date on all the latest advances and technology in the orthodontic field by regularly attending continuing education courses, and maintaining active membership in several professional organizations, including:
- American Association of Orthodontists
- American Dental Association
- Florida Association of Orthodontists, president
- Florida Dental Association
- Jacksonville Dental Society
- Orthogators, University of Florida Orthodontic Alumni Association
- Smile for a Lifetime, Jacksonville chapter
- Southern Association of Orthodontists
Family and Community
I am originally from Jacksonville, and currently reside in Ponte Vedra Beach. I am very close to my parents, as well as my sister and her family. I love to get to spend time with my beloved nieces!
In my spare time, I enjoy working out, playing tennis and golf, traveling, and skiing. I am an avid runner and run the DONNA Half Marathon every year to help support breast cancer research. Being a proud alumna of the University of Florida, if the Gators are playing, you will find me rooting them on! I love supporting the local schools in both their arts and sports programs as well.
Everything I give to my community I feel as if I get back trifold in having such a beautiful, engaging place to call home. Beaches Orthodontics leads the Jacksonville chapter of Smile for a Lifetime. This nonprofit group helps provide pro bono orthodontic services to people who cannot afford treatment. Applications are 100% confidential and we take the utmost care in selecting candidates for this service.
I am also a member of the Ponte Vedra Beach Rotary Club and find it a wonderful way to reach out! It is important to me to be involved in my community because we all have to work together to maintain such a wonderful place to reside.
